WELCOME TO THE LBHS BAND

We have a proud tradition of excellence both on field and on stage. If you have any questions during the year, please do not hesitate to call our committee chair Karen Pfannerstill at  407-746-3460 (Band Room) or mpbuniforms@outlook.com (Uniform Crew). We are excited about our coming year and happy that you will be a part of it! Students are fitted for shoes every year during band camp.  On the last Friday of band camp, the used uniform store, Patriot’s Closet, is opened from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.  Gently worn uniform attire that was donated in previous years is usually sold at this time. Marching Uniform Distribution is usually held by the second week of school.  Students sign up for appointments during band camp. Please contact Anita Robinson with questions.

UNIFORM PROBLEMS Before each game or performance, remember to check the weekly information sheet for uniform requirements and times for each performance.Students come to games dressed in: White band t-shirt•Royal blue band shorts White socks with black Bando shoes/buckles No jewelry No fingernail polish If you have a problem with your uniform (button fell off, zipper broke, no longer fits), someone will be available in the uniform room approximately 30 minutes before students are asked to arrive for games or concerts to take care of any difficulties. Come early! Do not wait until the last minute to take care of problems or you may have to answer to a Higher Authority than the Uniform Chairman!  You may not be the only one with a problem and you could find yourself in line behind 20 other Marching Patriots! Thirty minutes before each game, parents will be available in the uniform room to sell gloves, socks, and ponchos.  If you forget something, which we do not sell such as hats or shoes, you must call someone at home to bring the items to you.  If you absolutely cannot solve the problem yourself, the uniform chairman can loan some items. Please note: The  list of all students borrowing a  uniform part for a game will be  given to Mr. Wharton before  you march out or leave on the  buses and any students who  borrowed items must sit out  during third quarter break. Please attempt to solve the  problem before asking to  borrow.
STUDENT ACCOUNTS The Band Boosters maintain student accounts for any student who would like to participate.  The students fund their accounts by participating in student account fundraisers. Parents and students cannot place money directly into the accounts.  Money is earned only through the fundraisers.  The account can be used to pay for band related items, including fees, uniforms, trips, etc. Selling one entertainment book will place $10.00 into a student’s account.  If a student comes to a game or concert and has forgotten socks, gloves or button covers, he/she can use the account to purchase the items.  Having at least $10.00 in a student account gives the students a safety net for hectic Friday evenings. Many students use this tool as a way to raise money for the trip we take every 4 years.  When a student graduates, any unused money either transfers to a sibling’s account or to the band’s general scholarship account.
