Marching Beyond Halftime

LBHS BAND PARENTS THANK YOU On behalf of the Lake Brantley High School Band Boosters, I would like to thank each parent and student for a successful start to the 2016-2017 school year. Band Camp was extremely smooth because of all the planning, volunteers and the student cooperation that was shown during the week. The Band Camp Volunteers that helped in the kitchen prepared a snack for 400 people each day and served dinner for 400 people each day. We also had an awesome Uniform Distribution. The Uniform Committee always plans every detail for us so it runs smooth as possible.  Thank you to all that volunteered. Thanks to the parents for bringing your children on time and for their patience during the process. The Uniform Committee is the reason that our students look so good on the field! ALL COUNTY BAND Audition material for All-County band has been released.  Please see Mr. Wharton or Mrs. King for the audition information if you have not already received it.  Auditions will be held on Wednesday, November 9 at Lake Mary High School.  Each student that auditions will be required to turn in an All-County contract as well as their $2 fee to the band office. ALL STATE BAND Kudos to those students who prepared and auditioned for all-state band!  Results should be posted the week of November 1. SCPS Instrument Usage

Driver’s License Forms Thank you to all the parents who have already completed the Driver’s License form and turned it in. If you have not, please complete the form and return it with the $10 payment made out to Lake Brantley High School to the band room and I will write your name on our list and turn it in to the front office for you. If you plan to drive for any band event, you will have to have a DL form submitted to LB.  We need about 70 drivers for the Apple Canvass that will be on September 10 and 24. Marching Beyond Halftime is a documentary feature that will show the importance and significance of a solid music education. From discipline to listening to teamwork, this film will showcase what a great music education can do for a child. More importantly, it will focus on how the skills and bonds created in their music education will influence the rest of their lives no matter what path they take. We are excited to be working with The Lake Brantley High School Band and others in the Orlando area.  Once this project is finished, we plan to share Marching Beyond Halftime with our policy makers—those who control the budgets for arts programs across the country. SEMINOLE FESTIVAL

This performance is unique to Seminole County.  All eight Seminole County Bands perform for each other, our parents, School Board and county officials on Saturday, October 22.  Seminole HS will be the site this year.  We will meet earlier that day, load the buses, arrive at Seminole, rehearse the mass band selection and then eat.  We encourage all students to buy a meal deal from the Seminole HS Band parents.  Doing this allows all students (over 2000) participants to be fed quickly.  We have a short time allotted to eat.  All students can purchase a meal deal for $6.00 from the LB Band office.  The $6.00 buys you a 6” Firehouse Sub or a Chick–Fil–A sandwich, a bottle of water, a bag of chips and a cookie.  Please purchase these meals by October 14 TICKETS FOR THE FESTIVAL Tickets are $6.00 if purchased in the band room, and $7.00 if purchased at the gate.  The profit from all tickets that are presold will benefit the LB Patriot Band.  The profit from all tickets sold at the gate are distributed throughout the 8 bands in Seminole County.  Please buy tickets early and come to see all of our Seminole County Bands.   Please support the Marching Patriots!
