LBHS BAND VIDEOS
In less than two weeks you will be marching in full uniform. Everything
fits just perfectly but you can’t seem to get the buckles right. Don’t
sweat it! Just go to the Uniform
Section on this website and
click on the Videos link. There
you will find a step-by-step video on how to buckle your shoes. While
you are there, check out the other videos. They may just cover
something you’ve
might have missed.

APPLE CANVASSING
The first apple canvassing will take place
Saturday, September 11, 2010. Please mark this date on your
calendar. Everyone is required to canvass either the morning or afternoon
shift. Sign-up sheets are on the band office windows. Parents
we need drivers. Please call Sue Thornton @ 407-788-2639
if you can assist.
DIRECT APPLE FAMILY SALES All
students should have received individual packets for Apple Family Sales. We
are trying to increase participation this year and are asking each
student to sell 5 bags of apples. The Apple Sales are our biggest
band fundraiser of the year. Please support the band program. Sell
apples to your families, colleagues at work, etc. If you need
more forms or information, please call the Band room at 407-746-3460.
The initial packets of sales are due by Friday, October 15. Please
return them to the Band Office.
ALL-STATE AUDITIONS
This year's auditions will take place on Saturday, September
18, 2010 at Deltona High School. A list of the students that
signed up for this audition process is posted on the band office wall. Please
check to make sure all information is correct.
ENTERTAINMENT COUPON BOOKS
Entertainment Coupon Books
are on sale in the band room.
The price is $20.00 per book and $10.00 from each sale will go into
your student account. This is a great way to pay for band expenses,
such as all-state auditions, socks, gloves, shoes, band camp, solo
and ensemble accompaniment, and the trip to Washington D.C. See
Mrs. Swerdlow after each band rehearsal on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon
for more information about the books.
12 PACK OF WATER
Everyone from the 6th and 7th classes needs to
bring in a 12 pack of water. These will be distributed for our
band, visiting bands and the middle school band night. Only one
per family please. The other classes will bring theirs in later
in the season. Please bring these in and put your name on them
by next Friday.
DIVIDEND REGISTRATION Don’t forget to sign up as a dividend. All
volunteers must be a registered dividend in order to volunteer with
the booster organization.
GO BIG BLUE!!!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU So many of you have already volunteered
your time this year to help support Ms. Berry and the band program. Thanks to all of you
who have so generously given of your time. The success of the
band program is partly due to our parent commitment. If you haven’t
joined us yet, please try to give us at least a couple hours of your
time; we have many events that will require parent involvement, without
it the program would stall. Again, thank you for
all you do.
2010-2011
Band Trip Announced:
The band
will continue its tradition of taking a trip every 4 years. The “plan”,
while still in process is to depart Thursday, March 17th, 2011
for Washington DC via motorcoach. The return date is Tuesday,
March 22nd around lunchtime. This will coincide with Spring
Break. Estimated cost is $670.00 per person.
Immortalize Yourself... The band is offering you and your student
a special opportunity to forever "immortalize yourself" by
purchasing a block of granite to be placed
on the walls outside the band room with your student/family name or
special message.
The granite bricks are 7 7/8 inch x 4 inch and the cost is $50.00 per
brick. The proceeds from this event will go towards renovation
projects for the LBHS auditorium in support of the various arts programs.
The band is hoping to make this a yearly tradition, offering this program
two times per year.
All bricks purchased at this time will be installed by June 30th.
Join us in building the Band "wall of memories" and preserving
the history of our program. This would be a great tribute to our graduating
seniors and their families, as well as our outstanding band program.
Please click here to
download the form. Then return your order and payment to the band room.
